- A completed ride along application must be submitted. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
- When no previous arrangements have been made, a ride along application form must be submitted at least a week in advance of the requested ride along date.
- The waiver and confidentiality forms (Guest/Trainee Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement) must be read and signed prior to the ride along.
- If the rider is under the age of eighteen, a parental permission form must be submitted, and parent or guardian must accompany the participant to the Bigfork Fire Station and must witness the participant’s signature on the waiver form.
- All citizen ride-along participants shall adhere to the business casual dress code, which follows:
- Neat and clean clothing will be worn
- Docker® style pants
- Jeans are allowed, but they cannot have rips or holes
- Casual dress shirt (polo, button down shirt, dress shirt)
- Dress according to weather conditions
- ** T-shirts are not allowed **
- The participant should report to the Bigfork Fire Station at least fifteen minutes prior to the start of the ride along.
- During the ride along, the participant shall not offer assistance or try to participate in any Bigfork Fire Department activity (Fire/Rescue) unless directed by the duty Paramedic.
- The department has the authority to stop the ride along for any reason. In that case, the participant will be returned to the station or dropped off at a safe location. If the rider is dropped off, the communication center and a department supervisor will be notified of that location.
- If the ride along is terminated because of problems with the participant, the participant will be excluded from future participation in the program.
- During the Ride Along, the participant shall not at any time record by; Photograph, video, audio text, or transmit any account, or any portion thereof of any calls for service by the Bigfork Fire Department, nor shall any account or description of an call for service be posted to any Social Media.
- The Bigfork Fire Department has the right to refuse a ride along to any participant, for any reason.
